U型玻璃是采用特殊工艺加工而成的新型建筑墙体材料，具有不可燃烧的特性。U型玻璃可用于建筑内墙、外墙、隔断等位置，如若用于外墙常用于多层建筑，玻璃所使用的高度取决于项目当地的风荷载、距离地面高度、玻璃连接方式等。

建筑U型玻璃安装要求：

1、固定型材：将铝型材或其他金属型材用不锈钢螺栓或铆钉固定在建筑上，边框材料与墙面或建筑洞口牢固固定，每延米应不低于2个固定点。

2、玻璃入框架：将U型玻璃内面洗净，镶入框架，将起缓冲作用的塑料件截成相应长度放入固定框架内。

3、U型玻璃安装到最后三块时，先将两块玻璃放入边框，再用第三块玻璃封扣；如果剩余洞口宽度余量不能装入整块玻璃时，可将U型玻璃沿着长度方向裁切来满足剩余宽度，裁切后的玻璃应该先行安装。

4、对于温差加大的地区，U型玻璃之间的间隙应根据温度进行伸缩调整；

5、U型玻璃水平宽度大于2m时，横向构件水平度可允许3mm偏差；当高度不大于5m时，边框垂直度允许5mm偏差；高度不大于6m时，构件跨向挠度允许8mm偏差；

6、边框与U型玻璃之间用弹性垫条填充缝隙，垫条与玻璃和边框接触面不少于12mm;

7、在边框与玻璃，玻璃与玻璃，边框与建筑结构体存在的接缝采用玻璃胶类弹性密封材料(或硅酮胶密封)进行填充；

8、U形玻璃建筑墙体时非承重墙，不可受力，边框承受的荷载力应传给建筑物；

9、U型玻璃及边框安装完工后，玻璃内外表面擦拭干净，清洁场地遗留的物品。
